Advantages
of Concrete Engraving
The
engraved pattern is guaranteed to last the life of the concrete.
- The design
is IN the concrete not ON it.
- Concrete
engraving is not a topping -- it
beautifies and hides ugly, discolored and stained concrete --
it disguises and hides cracks and repairs in the concrete.
- Concrete
engraving is a unique and economical home improvement.
- The engraving
process is fast, clean, and leaves your surroundings undisturbed.
- Many designs,
logos and patterns are available including brick, random stone,
ashlar, basketweave, octagon, cobblestone, decorative tile and
more.
- An excellent
color selection of pigmented and acid stains are offered.
- Concrete
engraving is for new or existing concrete surfaces.
- Engraving
provides a low maintenance home improvement.
- Oil
drippings and other stains wipe right off the interior or
exterior surface.
- Resists
surface scratches, chipping, tire marks, shoe marks etc.
- Weeds
cannot grow between these patterns and designs.
- These
brick, tile patterns, or other designs can never come loose.
- Concrete
engraving is a profitable investment, adding distinctive value
and beauty to your home or business.
- Concrete
engraving adds no thickness to create problems such as:
- Will
not alter water drainage.
- Will
not cause water to run into the garage, especially around
the garage door.
- Will
not prevent overhead doors or other doors from closing properly.
- The American
Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology suggests removing carpet,
especially when laid over concrete floors.
The
engraving process is clean and simple. Here is a step-by-step description
of the process:
- First,
your concrete is thoroughly cleaned, prepared and then the color
of your choice is applied using a penetrating stain. A wide variety
of colors are available to harmonize and enhance the decor of
your home.
- Next,
the design you have chosen is engraved into your existing concrete
slab.
- Finally,
the area is washed down. Your project is complete in just a few
days, beautifying your surroundings.
Stains
Acid
Stains
Acid Stain
is not a paint or coating agent, rather, it's a coloring process
involving a chemical reaction on a cementitious material. The
color affect is unique to each stained surface and cannot be duplicated
with other materials. A solution made with water, acid and inorganic
salts, reacts with minerals already present in the concrete, the
result of this reaction is color. It works very well on new or
old concrete. Acid Stain is a very durable product if properly
protected with sealer or wax, and it can be applied to both interiors
and exteriors. Acid stained interior floor surfaces are quickly
replacing those areas where carpet used to be the norm.
What makes
Acid Stain so attractive? Acid Stain gives concrete a mottled
, variegated, marble-like look. Acid stained floors won't chip
or crack like tile. The stain becomes part of the surface and
is fade resistant, abrasion resistant, and won't peel. Stained
surfaces are striking in appearance and add an artistic approach
to flooring. The stain creates uneven, variegated and translucent
color effects.
Many unique
designs are possible. To achieve a special color effect, two or
more stain colors may be intermixed before application or applied
one over the other while wet. Deeper colors can be produced by
using the same stain for two or more applications to the surface.
The options on what look to achieve are limited only by one's
imagination.
Pigmented
Stains
Pigmented
stains actually bond with concrete to form a tough shield. Because
of this bonding process, concrete coatings will not fade, peel,
or flake and they will maintain their attractive appearance for
many years to come. Pigmented stain is the ideal finish designed
to ad deeply penetrating protection and long lasting beauty to
concrete surfaces such as driveways, patios, walkways, and garage
floors. These concrete stains are highly resistant to abrasion.
There are different pigmented stains applied to exterior and interior
surfaces.
